President's Letter

  • This is my last letter as President of the BHCC.   The year blew by!  As promised in my first Board meeting, I pushed a lot of people to undertake new leadership roles in the Hispanic and business community.  I am proud of them for receiving the baton of leadership, and encourage them to do their best to carry that baton for those that need the BHCC's help.

The BHCC is in good hands, remains strong, and will continue to be a pillar of the business community in the coming year -- siempre Adelante!

One of the greatest strengths of the BHCC is the diverse business culture of its members.  Although we may have small, medium and large business owners in our membership rolls, all businesses, no matter the iindustry, require yearly planning if they are to be successful.  Now is the time to re-evaluate next year's goals.

A good first step is to talk to your accountant prior to delivering your year end paperwork.  Make him or her spend the 15 minutes to a half hour with you to assess your financial questions and resume.  This off the cuff discussion may allow them to highlight some things for you to think about, and then when he/she has prepared your draft tax forms, you can finalize the discussion based on hard numbers.  Brainstorming is never wrong...,

A good second step is to talk to your spouse and family.  Are you adding to the family relationship or distracted from it?  Granted, we all need to make some money, but family life is critically important to everyone's mental health.

Bienvidos to the new Baltimore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce website!

It has been a few months since the BHCC decided to upgrade its website capabilities, and our new website is getting some final touches regarding content to allow the BHCC to expound upon its members' business interests and duties.  Thank you to Vision Multimedia Technologies, LLC for its assistance in getting the BHCC website up and running!  Special Note:  One caveat that I would like to remind our BHCC members of is that the BHCC does not allow the sale of its membership lists to anyone for any purpose.  Our website is for BHCC member business purposes only, and members are asked to be professional and courteous when attempting to cross sell to other members.  Please do not spam or sent daily or weekly emails to member addresses, and everyone else will return the favor.

As another Memorial Day comes and goes -- with the BHCC's well wishes and blessings to all members and their families, the key business question continues to be:  Esta tu empresa lista para el verano?  Is your company ready for the Summer?

Have you thought through all of its insurance needs?

Have you thought through your banking and financing providers?

Have you thought through its lease(s) or location concerns?  Would new construction be better?

    Where will your employees live?

In a pinch, what service providers or governmental agencies are out there to assist you with your busin

  •  Message from the President:

Spring brings" good things" to many people, and personal reinvention, education and

and respect for others, can only enhance every BHCC's member's success rate in their professional life.  Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

The BHCC is made up of many different sized companies.  Each has its own niche or is trying to create one.  As you mingle and network with other members, and many new ones are coming, do not forget to treat fellow members and potential members better than you treat yourself.  Everyone wants to network with good people, and this means listening, caring, and at times, holding new members' hands.  Hey, we did it for you!!!  Respect each other's time availability and commitments, but make sure that you can say that you helped someone new down the BHCC road.

  • Dear Members and Friends of the BHCC:

The BHCC wishes all of its members Happy Holidays, and a prosperous New Year!

In this time of national financial turmoil, war, and vigorous and contentious debate over health care, taxation, and business survival issues, the Baltimore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (the "BHCC") will take a leadership role in the Baltimore metropolitan area to make sure that its constituent members are prosperous, and heard by our elected representatives.  We will work with Democratic and Republican leadership alike to ensure that small and large Hispanic member businesses have a say in what is going on in this State.  With a united front, we will strive to make each and everyone one of our constituent businesses a viable and successful partner in Maryland's economic growth.

  • Message from the President:  (Please send your checks in by 2/15/10)

The BHCC is greatly disturbed by the national disaster that has overtaken our friends, the people of Haiti.  Neighbors in our Southern hemisphere must be supported, and their needs met, in times of Emergency.

The BHCC will endeavor to collect monies from its membership in order to send immediate donations to Haiti -- through an appropriate care giving organization, the American Red Cross.  TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!

All members and friends of the BHCC are encouraged to send their donations in CHECK form to the President's office:
